If you've seen my work and read about my philosophy you'll know that I love telling stories with my photographs. I also love adventures, chatting and having fun. If I were to sum up my world in 5 words they would be family, friends, food, nature and fun.
When I first thought about a career in photography I thought I would hate wedding photography as it seemed stuffy and awkwardly posed. Once I realised that I could capture people as I wanted to capture them and make it into a beautiful fun adventure story I was hooked. Most of my clients are like me, they feel awkward in front of the camera, so I love shooting in my relaxed way and making photographs they love. I often come away from weddings buzzing as I love to chat to the families and regularly make new friends.
As a child I was fortunate to travel a lot around Europe and Scotland. I didn't realise as a kid how lucky I was to experience different cultures, foods and languages and as an adult I am always yearning to get away to explore somewhere. At home, Iain and I have two gorgeous little boys plus a cat called 'Baxter' and a wee green canoe known as 'Noe Noe' which we try to all go out in when the water is calm. For me the water is special. I love to just sit on the rocks at the beach and watch the water and I always get a bit excited when a wedding is near the water.
Some places in the world are just magical and for me it is Italy. The magic combination of the food, the wine, the landscape and the culture just make me feel relaxed and happy.
The video below is a glimpse at my favourite moments from 2017. Some are special little moments or touches between people, some are of some beautiful places I have visited and some are just fun or interesting. These are my best bits, enjoy!
